Snack & Treats
We will be having snack mid-morning each day. Please send a healthy, peanut free snack with your child 1X per month for the whole class (23 students) to share. We will not have a snack schedule and if our snacks get too low, I'll send an email out asking for more. For more information on the district's peanut policy, please see below.
Food brought in to the elementary or middle schools cannot state within the ingredient list ANY peanuts or tree nuts OR products made from peanuts or tree nuts.
If your child is in grades PreK-2nd you also may NOT bring in any foods with manufacturers warning about the possible presence of peanuts/tree nuts. These warnings include but are not limited to “…is manufactured in…”, “…it may contain…”, and “…it may contain traces of…”. At this time local bakeries such as Hy-Vee, WalMart, Sam’s Club, and Costco do NOT meet the current policy expectations for children in grades PreK-2nd grade. If these items are brought in, they will not be permitted in the classroom.
If bringing in treats please read the ingredient list to verify the items meet our policy expectations.
